OBITUARY

CANADIAN - Marshall Glen MOREHEAD, 69, died Thursday, June 8, 2000.

Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Jahnel, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Mobeetie, officiating. Burial was in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors.

Mr. MOREHEAD was born near Waka in Ochiltree County. He graduated from Canadian High School in 1949 and attended Draughon's School of Business at Oklahoma City. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He worked at grocers in Oklahoma City, Elk City, Oklahoma, and Woodward, Oklahoma, before returning to Canadian in 1969.

He worked in the lumber millwork and retail industry. After retiring he owned and operated The River Crossing at Canadian and restored furniture. He was a charter member of the Canadian Moose Lodge, a former member of the Canadian Lion's Club and a member of First United Methodist Church.

He married Dorothea Rose KELLN in 1954 at Lipscomb County.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Marsha POOL of Malakoff, Ruth Ann ADKINS of Briscoe and Donna Sue MOREHEAD of Amarillo; a son, Marshall Glen "Pete" MOREHEAD of Lipscomb; two sisters, Mildred COLE of Enid, Oklahoma, and Ava HALE of Panhandle; two brothers, Walton MOREHEAD of Canadian and Charles MOREHEAD of Lake Tanglewood; and eight grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S. Fourth, Canadian, TX 79014.
