Orville Mills Cox was the first white boy born in Utah who lived to be a man.; At the Pioneer Jubilee on July 24, 1897, he was given a gold medal for being an 1847 Pioneer.
He married Maud Rosanna Jones in 1874 and she died in 1886. They had a large farm in Fairview. He married Annie Melinda Brown (Chapelle) in 1894. She was a widow and a nurse and helped people during the flu epidemic of 1919. In his later years he lived with his daughter, Ida Cox Fielding and her husband, Thomas Fielding. They lived on the Provo Bench He died in the hospital in Orem, Utah and was buried in Fairview, Sanpete, Utah.
