William N. Engel, 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Engel of Ottawa, drowned April 25, 1966 when he fell into the Illinois River while at play with other youngsters along the shore.
He was born July 14, 1958 in Chicago, son of Charles W. and Elizabeth (Gettings) Engel. He was a student at the Jefferson school until December when he transferred to Lincoln school.
Survivors include his parents; one sister: Tina Marie; and two brothers: Craig and Timothy; paternal grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. James Engel of Ottawa; maternal grandparents: Edwin Hall of Chicago; maternal great-grandfather: James Sammons of Cincinnati, Ohio.
