Beulah M. Thornburg, 95, passed away Tuesday morning at The Woodlands following an extended illness.
She was born in Muncie, the daughter of Joseph and Sue (Smell) Curtis and graduated from Yorktown High School.
Mrs. Thornburg was a farm wife most of her life. she also was employed at Merchants National Bank for 14 years and Ball Stores for nine years.
She was a member of DeSoto United Methodist Church, where she was very active for many years.
Surviving are three children, Melanie K. Wasson, Estes Park, CO, Thomas R. Thornburg (wife-Julie), Culver, and Donna S. Shaw (husband-Kerry), Muncie; five grandchildren, Leslie and Vikki Wasson, Jacob and Katherine Shaw, and Patrick Thornburg; a great-granddaughter, Valerie Wasson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roscoe Thornburg; a son-in-law, Allan Wasson; a brother, Richard Curtis; a sister, Bonnie Whitehair; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and special friends.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in DeSoto United Methodist Church with Rev. Daryl R. Hamlyn officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. on Saturday until time of service.
Memorials may be directed to DeSoto United Methodist Church, 6309 N. CR 500 E., Muncie, IN 47303.
The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
