Mrs. Bertha A. Siegling, 85, died Monday, Janurary 2, 1978 at the Prairie Good Samaritan Center in Miller, SD.
Mrs. Siegling was born August 22, 1892 in Bern, Switzerland, the daughter of Adolph and Anna (Kaiser) Mast.
She came to the United States with her parents and sister in 1902, moving to Iowa City, Iowa, later to the Midland, SD area, and to Burdette Township, Hand County, South Dakota in 1911.
She married John A. Siegling, son of Charles and Bertha (Schmidt), March 27, 1910 at Tulare. They farmed in Burdette townhip and later lived on a farm near St. Lawrence, until moving to Miller in 1955.
Survivors include three sons, Milo Siegling, St. Lawrence, Kenneth Siegling, Redfield, and Darrell Siegling, Wesington; two daughters, Mrs. Ross (Edna) Bingham, St. Lawrence and Mrs. Maurice (Myra) Christian, Wessington; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Dixson, Greenwich, NY; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1948 and father in 1954; husband in 1965; brothers Emil in 1947 and Adolph, Jr. in 1975; grandson, Ronald in 1937, and son-in-law, W. Ronald Tranter in 1948.
Visitation: Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Private funeral services for the family and relatives: Reck Funeral Home, Miller, SD.
