Edna Viola (Boyd) Rousey, wife of William Jasper Rousey, he was born Feb. 28, 1907, a son of William Newton Rousey & Cinthia (Flowers) Rousey (Cinthia born 1869 in MO), a daughter of James William Flowers (1844-1937) & Mary Emaline (Lane) Flowers (1850-1873).

Funeral services for Edna V. Rousey, 86, of Purcell were held July 1, 2002 at Wilson-Littel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Atteberry and Rev. Wayne Brown officiating. Interment was at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home. Mrs. Rousey died June 28, 2002 at Norman Regional Hospital. She was born April 16, 1914 in Wynnewood, the daughter of Benjamin Henry Boyd and Margaret Camoline Rogers Boyd. She was reared on a farm near Wynnewood and married William J. Rousey, May 20, 1930 in Wynnewood and the couple remained living there until 1942 when they moved to Purcell. Together the couple reared eight children. Mrs. Rousey was a homemaker and in her later years worked at Norman Regional Hospital and in the Purcell High School Cafeteria. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Purcell. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents ; a daughter, Edna Mae Wilson in July 1993 ; five sisters, Lillie Rich, Ethel Rousey, Vera Rich, Maybelle Boyd and her infant twin, Edith Boyd and one brother, Huey Whitson. Survivors include three daughters, Virginia Smith and husband, Walter of Jacksonville, AR., Pat Croslin and husband, Ken of Purcell and Sandra Sanders and husband, Darrell of Lexington ; four sons, Bill Rousey and wife, Jan of Purcell, Don Rousey and wife, Judy of Tecumseh, Tom Rousey of Port Richey, FL., Terry Rousey and wife, Brenda of Purcell ; 14 grandchildren ; 21 great grandchildren and three great - great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brian, Terry, Mark, Michael and Tommy Rousey, Jr., Jeff Croslin and Don Brannon. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Croslin, Michael Spencer, Darrell; Sanders, Walt Smith, Kevin Hanley, Brian Branson, Lee Smith and Dale Weinstein.
