Rice Key was born in 1810; died January 1862. Rice Key listd in 1850 & 1860 census of Gilmer County, Georgia. Many of his descendants still live in Gilmer County, Georgia. CSA, Company A, Eighth Georgia Regiment.

Rice Key born 11/12/1813 in Surry NC; died 01/7/1862; buried 01/08/1862. Moved to Gilmer county Boardtown (next to Ellijay) Ga in 1848, husband of Sarah Bullen. Two oldest sons also joined the CSA and were captured by Union Foces, sent to Lexington Ky. Union army prison where they signed oath to join Union Army rather then go to northern prison where chance of staying alive was slim. Names were Iredel and Jasper. Jasper died 1864 Mareitta Ga where he is buried in the National Cemetery. He may not have died from a wound. Iredell survied the war. Arminda (Minda) born 1861 last child of Rice and Sarah. She married Charles Patterson.
