HERMISTON — Charles Edgar Lewis, 99, of Stanfield died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, in Hermiston. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. A private family burial will be held at the Hermiston Cemetery.

Mr. Lewis was born June 5, 1911, in Mount Hope, W.V., to William and Alta Flint Lewis. He was raised in Ohio and worked as a tree trimmer. He moved to Pasco, Wash., and opened Lewis Trailer Sales, which he owned and operated for many years. He later moved to Power City and managed Hagg Trailer Sales until he retired.

He married Esther "Louise" Davis in 1998 and they lived in Stanfield.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his daughter, Sharron Walker of Umatilla; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; son Donald C. Lewis; and nine siblings.
