Noah Terry was born in Mississippi to Unknown (believed to be Samuel Martin Terry)and Mary Terry. His dad died and his mother married Josiah Kitchens. It is believed they left Mississippi and traveled to Arkansas, where Mary and Josiah died. The children then walked from Arkansas to Freestone County, Texas. (Perhaps the parents died on the way to Texas--death and burial info unknown).
He married Nancy Elizabeth Owens on December 31, 1868, in Freestone County. In 1870 Noah and Nancy are listed in the census as living in Freestone County, along with R C. In 1880, Noah and Nancy are living in Freestone County, with Rebecca, Madora, Mary Melissa, William J., Ida, Cora, Noah Edward, and his half brother Josiah Kitchens. They also had Laura, Samuel, Maud, and Zina. Nancy died in 1889. In 1891, Noah married Eliza E "Emma" Cox.
