Hershel Upchurch, 64, a farmer of Rt 1, Silver Point, died Sunday at Cookeville General Hospital following a short illness.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Baxter Funeral Home with burial in Smellage Cemetery; Glen Ramsey officiating.
Mr Upchurch, a native of Putnam County, was the son of Bill and Alta Flatt Upchurch. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs Gladys Upchurch; 5 sons, Robert, Indianapolis, IN; Herman, Baxter; Douglas, Silver Point; Gene and Earl Ray, Cookeville; 3 daughters, Dimple Payce, Indianapolis, IN; Dorothy Thomas, Nashville; Miss Peggy Upchurch, Cookeville; 3 brothers, Clarence, Crossville; Willie, Edonwall; 3 sisters, Virginia Roberts, Silver Point; Syble Slagle, Cookeville; Martha Jernigan, Knoxville.
