Loraine J. Adcock, 93, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ in Arlington. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Loraine was born March 13, 1917, in McGregor to Corrine and Richard McGaughy. She married the love of her life, Oscar J. Adcock Jr., on July 3, 1938. Loraine was always an example and inspiration to our family, as well as everyone whose lives she touched. She always looked for the goodness in people and life's situations. She had a message for all who came to see her. It was "Thank-you," "Thank-you," "Thank-you." I love you. Loraine was the definition of the word "mother." She loved everyone. As our mother she was always an example for our lives. Mom looked to God's word for guidance for her own life and for ours. She was preceded in death by her parents; 10 siblings; her husband of 58 years, Oscar J. Adcock Jr.; one son, Mike Adcock; and one grandson, Willie Howard Dunn Jr. Survivors: Son, Don Adcock and wife, Debbie, of Murchison; daughters, Jimmie Gill and husband, Don, of Fort Worth, Deborah Tidwell and husband, Jerry, of Crowley and Monteen Mulcahy and husband, David, of Kennedale; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
