Born May 16, 1957 in Moscow, Idaho. Died June 2, 2010 in Murray, Utah from heart failure. She resided at 167 North Highway 89 in North Salt Lake, Utah at the time of her death.

Marlyn was the daughter of Clayne and Helen Hendricks. She came to earth as one of God's special angels. Given several challenges to face she soared above them with constant joy in her heart.

She loved children and received a degree from SUSC in Early Childhood Education. While in school, she met James Fredrick Mortensen and married him in the Manti Temple on June 2, 1979.

She loved knitting baby blankets for every child in her circle of love. She served faithfully in her church callings. She loved everyone who came into her world.

She is survived by her husband James, mother Helen Hendricks, brothers Robert and Darrell Hendricks, sister Kathryn Turner, several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Preceded in death by her father Carl Clayne Hendricks.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road. Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment will be held in the Ammon, Idaho Cemetery on Monday at 5:00 p.m.
