Morgan Rose Deckard, Age 10 years old, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the Bloomington Hospital. She had strongly battled the Cancer Neuroblastoma for five years after being diagnosed in May 2005.
Born, May 12, 2000 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Dusten and Brooke (Curry) Deckard.
Morgan was a loving big sister, and she enjoyed hanging out with her friends. She had a love for animals and volunteered at Delilah's Pet Shop. Morgan had a great desire to be a fashion designer, and she loved to sew, draw, paint and sculpt with a passion for art. She also had a passion for music, dancing and playing softball.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her parents, Dusten and Brooke (Curry) Deckard, three sisters, Kamryn May Deckard, Sydney Foster Deckard and Isabella Lee Deckard, grandparents, Mike and Becky Curry, Jim and Gretia Miller, Rick and Melodee Deckard, great-grandparents, Fredonna Curry, Kate and Roger Deckard all of Bloomington, Harold McArtor of Solsberry, Diana Hobbs of Mitchell John and Pat Holsapple of Campbellsburg, aunts, Carey Curry, Lacey Deckard, both of Bloomington, uncles, Ryan Curry of Ellettsville, Ty Deckard and Kelley Deckard both of Bloomington. She was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Foster Curry, Norma McArtor, Harry Hobbs and a great-aunt, Diana Williams.
A celebration of life will be 10:30am on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, in Bloomington, with David Norris officiating. Visitation will be held 3-8pm Monday at The Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Morgan Rose Deckard Neuroblastoma Foundation in care of The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard.
