Emma Marie (Roofner) Smith, 71, of Worthington, R.D. 1, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999 at her residence. She was born October 17, 1927 in Worthington to Frank W. and Mary Ellen (Brown) Roofner.
She was a 1945 graduate of Worthington-West Franklin High School, Worthington, Pa.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She was a member of the Worthington United Presbyterian Church. She attended the New Beginning Church in Christ, Worthington and the Family Life Church, Kittanning. She was a member of the Worthington Senior Citizens. She was a former member of the Woman's Aglow.
She is survived by one son, Donald E. Smith of Worthington; one daughter, Mrs. Ray C. (Shirley Mae) Claypoole Jr. of Worthington; six grandchildren, Tammy Crissman, Nadine Doody, Kristy Doody, Roy Claypoole, Alex Smith and Leland Claypoole; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Robert W. (Agnes) Roofner and Carl F. (Vivian) Roofner, both of Worthington and Edward C. (Barbara) Roofner of Kittanning R.D. 3; and four sisters, Alice M. Dezort of Cabot, Iola Maude Anker of Dallas, Pa., Janet A. (Richard) Keener of Sarver and Vera Jean White of Cowansville R.D. 1.
Friends of Emma Marie (Roofner) Smith, 71, of Worthington, R.D. 1, who died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington. additional visitation will be held at the Worthington United Presbyterian Church from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jonathan Speck, officiating, assisted by Pastor Donald Breghenti.
Interment will take place in the Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington, Pa.
