William, son of George Barrick and Ann Akins was born in the parish of Whittlesey St. Andrew. The family lived on Old Tavern Street. By the time he was 21 he was living & working as an ostler (horse handler) at the home of Henry Baker. On 27 Oct 1874 he married Fanny Manchett, a 22 year old servant from Thorney, in the church of St. Andrew, Whittlesey. Fanny died of phthisis (TB) 18 Feb 1877 and was buried at Whittlesey St. Andrews. There were no children of this marriage in the baptismal registers.

William, a widower, married Ann Goaks of Ramsey on 20 Oct 1880 at the Parish Church of St. Thomas a Becket, Ramsey. William and Ann lived at Bullard's End (#16) in April of 1881 when the census was taken.

William and Ann settled in Oneida, New York, U.S.A. where their children were born. The immigration took place between 1880 & 1886 when their son, George Barrick was born. They came to America with his employer, C. M. Remich who promised William he would provided with a home and salary for the rest of his life, to be his coachman and gardener. After Mr. Remich's death, he was caretaker for the property of Edwin P. Chapman who married the widow of Remich.

George was born 25 Apr 1886 in Oneida NY and died 28 Apr 1971 at Lockport, NY. He married Anny Mount in Lockport, NY. She was 15 years older than George, and died about 1863.

Ethel Maud Barrick, their daughter, was born 25 Dec 1887 in Oneida NY. She Married Thomas Lynch in about 1919 and they divorced after 1926. She died 05 Feb 1957 and is buried on her parents' plot in Glenwood Cemetery.
