HORACE W. MODLIN
TYNER - Horace Willard Modlin, 74, of the 100 block of Dallie White Road, died Saturday, June 14, 1997, in his home.
Mr. Modlin was born in Chowan County. The son of the late Elisha and Mrs. Lettie Morris Modlin, he was retired from the supply department of Lipton Tea Co., Suffolk.
Surviving are his wife, Inez Cobb Modlin of the home; one daughter, Vickie L. Modlin of Durham; one sister, Lina McDade of Charleston, S.C; one brother, Herbert Modlin of Tyner; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Dickie Modlin.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Byrum-Modlin Family Cemetery by the Rev. Royce Reynolds. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and all other times at the residence.
