A retired farmer, Shawver lived in Archer County since 1922. They farmed on the H.E. Brown place, four miles north of Olney for 15 years, then moved to the ranch of the late W.R. Farmer, 14 miles north of Olney. Shawver retired in 1940 and moved to Archer City.

Wales of Archer City, 27 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, brother - Floyd Shawver of Vineyard, sister - Miss Lula Shawver.
On their 50th wedding anniversary, the announcement states that they married at Gibtown, Jack County, Texas.
