Obit: Harry A. Bennett, age 73, of Corning, NY, passed away unexpectedly Saturday,September 14, 2002 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
Harry was born August 31, 1929 in Corning,
NY, son of Vernon and Margaret Winder Bennett.
He was a graduate of Corning Free Academy, Class of 1947, where he began his great interest in sports. Sports
were important to him, and he was an avid Mets, Knicks and Giants fan.
Harry married the former Nancy Thomas in Elmira, NY, in 1949 and retired from Corning Glass after 40 years of active service in 1986. Harry was very outgoing, and along with gardening, in his spare time, he especially loved time
spent with the grandchildren.
Surviving Harry are his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy Bennett at home, sons and daughters-in-law: Gary and Joan Bennett of Corning, Terry Bennett of Corning, Randy and Brenda Bennett of Painted Post; daughter and son-in-law: Colleen and John Gleason of Corning; grandchildren:
Nickie (Lindy) Allen of Corning; Allison Bennett of Corning; Shelley Carlineo of Painted Post; Eddie Bennett of Painted Post; Chelsea Bennett of Corning; Matthew
Bennett of Corning; Caitlin Bennett of Corning; great grandchildren: Kalene Carlineo, Kamren Carlineo, Rylee Rhodes, all of Painted Post; along with good
