Jackie Ray Ricks, Jr.

Funeral services for Jackie Ray Ricks, Jr., of Batesville, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, at New Bethel Baptist Church near Carrollton, with burial following in Hickory Grove Cemetery near Carrollton. Rev. Joseph Sansing and Rev. J. D. Nester will officiate the services.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 2, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., at New Bethel Baptist Church.
Mr. Ricks was the son of the late Jackie Ray Ricks and the late Elaine Box Ricks. He was a welder and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include his stepmother, Bobbie Ann Ricks of Carrollton; four sisters, Shonda Phelon of Grenada, Lucresha Ellett of Carrollton, Miranda Brown of Batesville, Lorinda Strickland of Carrollton; two stepsisters, Stephanie Cherry of Carrollton, Tara Byford of Grenada; one stepbrother, Thomas Clunan of Carrollton; two uncles, Jimmy Ricks of Carrollton and Gerald Ricks of Carrollton; and numerous nieces and nephews, including special nieces and nephews, Mercedes Brown, Mark Brown Jr., Morgan Brown; and a special great-niece, Chloe Matthews.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Strickland, Jimmy Ellett, Jeremy Matthews, David Brown, Charles Tucker, James Nester, and Mike Hollifield. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Neal, Eddie Moore, Justin Ellett, and Mark Brown, Jr.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund or to the Hickory Grove Cemetery Fund.
