She was born September 1, 1909 in Whitney, Idaho, a daughter of William Andrew and Sadie Ellen Ellsworth Beckstead. She married George Mortmer Bronson on October 22, 1924 in Idaho. They were later divorced. She married Maurice Hart Laws on August 30, 1947 in Ogden. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died June 13, 1983. She was reared and educated in Whitney, Idaho until 1947 when she moved to Ogden where she resided until her death. She lived at the Harrison Regent for two years and made many good friends. She received her LPN license from Weber State College in 1953. She was active in the LDS Church and served in many capacities.
Surviving are two sons and three daughters, Val M. Bronson, Ogden; Jeffery H. Laws, Farr West; Coralleen (Toni) Mattson, Orient, New York; Bonnie Ray Thackeray, Ogden; VeAnn Isakson, Salt Lake City; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Paul Laws, one granddaughter, four brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Wayne Wahlquist officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from noon to 12:45 p.m. Interment: Ogden City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of Northern Utah or the Mission Fund of Tim Brower in care of the family.
