Murrel Fordyce, 72, died unexpectedly at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at his home, 709 W Virginia Ave. Born Aug 20, 1889, in Lions, he was the son of John and Eliza (Page) Fordyce. He was married in Kokomo to Catherine Raffee , who survives with the following children: Mrs. Norman (Marilyn) Price of Walton; Murrel Jr. of Fort Story, VA,; Mrs. Earl (Rosella) Porter of Kokomo, Zed of Abilene, TX; and John, at home; one brother Albery Fordyce of Marion; and nine grandchildren. One daughter preceded him in death. A veteran of WWI, he was a life member of VFW, Post 1152 and retired from Haynes Stellite Corporation where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. The body is at the Peacock Funeral Home, pending arrangements.
