Herbert Beckman - Wesernport - Herbert George Beckman, 34, husband of Lanora Fitzpatrick Beckman, 522 Maryland Avenue, died Sunday in Newton D Baker VA center, Martinsburg, W Va, following an operaton Thursday.

Mr Beckman was born in Oakland, a son of Courtney H and Stella Gower Beckman, McCoole, and has reisded in the Tri-Towns nearly all of his life.

A World War II veteran, he served 27 months in the Army Coast Artillery in the Philippines and Japan.

Mr Beckman was employed in the laboratory of the Luke Plant of the West Virginia Pulp and Paper company and was a member of Kelly-Mansfield Post No 52, Piedmont, W Va, American Legion.

Besides his wife and parents Mr Beckman is survived by two daughters, Margaret Ann and Judith Lynn, and a step-son, John William Kammauff, all at home; a sister Mrs Mabel Noel, Lonaconing, and three brothers, Franklin, Baltimore; Willis, Florida, and Leo, McCoole.

A service will be conducted at the residence today at 2 p.m. with Rev William B Orndorff, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Philos Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by Kelly-Mansfield Post.
