Franklin George Nichols, Piedmont Leader, Dies - Funeral services for Franklin George Nichols, 65, prominent Piedmont businessman, who died at 4:15 o'clock this morning at his residence of a heart attack, were conducted this afternoon in Birmingham at Brown Service Norwood Chapel, Rev D E Hood and Rev W D Barnes officiated and burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. Mr Nichols, who lived at 400 Front Street, had lived in Piedmont nine years and was a Mason. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Eugenia Nichols; two sons, Capt Paul Nichols, who is with the US Army in the CBI Theater, and C E Nichols of Birmingham; one step-daughter, Miss Fay Morris of Piedmont; two step-sons, Sgt David C Morris, now stationed in Africa, and Cpl Radford Morris, with the Army in Italy, and one sister, Mrs D A McNeal [McNeill] of Talladega.
