J.C. Jarvis, 61, of Salina, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011. He was born Dec. 27, 1949, in Salina, the son of Mel Jarvis and Mary Cheney Jarvis.J.C. worked as a construction contractor. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman, and was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. J.C. cherished his many friendships.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jeff. Survivors include his brother, Mark and wife Cathy, of Lenexa; sister, Joan Brown, of Prairie Village; and many nieces and nephews.A graveside inurnment service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina, with the Rev. Loren Houltberg officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to VFW Post 1432 Auxiliary. Ryan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
