Son of Miles "Tunney" Gartman and Viola Boothe Gartman. He married Olga Rosa Foehl (in Germany)and they had three children.
He served in the military during World War II.
He was my Grandma Mamie's younger brother. The family lost touch with him for years after the war and had no knowledge of his whereabouts.
In about 1982 or 1983,my aunt found a phone listing in a genealogy book about Gartmans living in Alabama and called it on a whim to see if it was him and it was. He was living in Daleville Alabama, near Fort Rucker.
My Grandma made the trip to visit him not long after and they kept in contact. He even came and stayed with her for a while and it was at her home where he passed away, on the property that adjoined the property on which he was born.
I did not know him very well, but he seemed to be a very nice man. I know that my Grandmother talked about him constantly before they reunited and was very happy to find him again.

I do not know the exact cemetery where he is buried. I know that it is in Daleville and possibly may be Westview Cemetery where his wife is buried but I do not know for sure at this time.
