Henry and Betsy (Graves) Bond were born in the State of NY where they were married and became the parents of seven children - Egbert, Nathaniel L., Elizabeth, Henry, Harriet, Warren and Allen. They came to Whiteside County in 1843 where they located on a farm in Ustick Township. Betsy died at age 68 on April 7, 1857, and Henry at age 75 on July 18, 1862. Henry Bond bought the farm of Roy Oatman, who went in 1850 with his family to California.
