Mary Elizabeth (Kister) Hill Dorn was the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Koch) Kister. She was born in Walter, Russia (or Brunnenthal) on December 23, 1882. Here she was baptized and confirmed. In 1900 she was married to Friedrich Hill. They came to the United States in 1908 and settled at Marion, Kansas and then came to Weld County and settled in the Ault and Greeley area. Mr. Hill passed away in 1925. In 1929 she married George Dorn and he passed away in 1948. Mother Dorn became a member of the St. Paul's Church in 1928 and has since been a member. She was loved by family and neighbors and will be missed by many.

Mother Dorn has been in failing health for many years. She was in the Weld County Hospital for over two weeks before her death on Monday, September 5th [1966] at approximately 1:50 p.m. She atttained the age of eighty-three years, eight months, and twelve days.

She was preceded in death by five children, three in infancy. She is survived by six daughters: Hanna, Mrs. Victor Graff of Littleton, Colorado; Alma, Mrs. Alex Stoll and Helen Schissler both of Greeley; Alice, Mrs. Jake Hemple of Englewood, Colorado; Lydia H, Mrs James W Newby of West Covina, California; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren.
