OBITUARY

Emma Spruell SIMPSON, 73, died October 11, 1999. Graveside services were held in the Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with George Smelser, Senior Minister at the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial was by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian.

Mrs. SIMPSON was born April 12, 1926 in Canadian to John F. and Willa May Brown SPRUELL, and was a lifelong resident of Canadian. She married George SIMPSON on February 28, 1974 in Canadian.

Mrs. SIMPSON had been employed at Hemphill County Hospital and the Abraham Memorial Home as a Nurse’s Aide and Health Care Provider. She was preceded in death by a son, John BORST, on February 23, 1947. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, George SIMPSON of Canadian; three sons, Frederick BORST and William BORST of San Antonio and Thomas BORST of Elk City, Oklahoma; two daughters, Willa Jane CONDRON of Waco and Irene DAVIDSON of Canadian; a sister, Gladys McCULLOM of Amarillo, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
