Candace "Candi" Miller Taylor

Candace Leigh Miller Taylor, a resident of Dothan, died Friday January 28, 2011 at her residence. She was 36.

Funeral services for Candi will be held at 3 PM Monday January 31, 2011 at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverends Ricky Plummer, Wallace Russell and Annie Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill cemetery with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends from 3 PM until 6 PM Sunday January 30, 2011 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Regions Bank c/o Hayes A. Taylor Scholarship Fund.

Candi was born June 24, 1974 to Quin and Carol Cobb Miller and was a lifelong resident of the Ardilla Community. She was a 1992 graduate of Dothan High School and later received her Bachelor and Masters degree from Troy University in Education. Candi was employed with the Dothan City School System having taught at Dothan High for 11 years and Beverlye Magnet for the last two. She enjoyed horseback riding with her son, traveling, teaching History and her profound love for students. Candi was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church and was currently attending Calvary Baptist. Although having an education was important to Candi her faith in God was even stronger.

Candi was preceded in death by a sister, Julie Anna Miller; maternal grandparents, Rufus Conrad Cobb and Mattie Odom Cobb; paternal grandparents, Quinton Miller and Myrtle Yates Miller.

Survivors include her son, Hayes Augustus Taylor, Dothan; parents, Quin and Carol Miller, Dothan; two sisters, Allison Miller Till and her husband, Jeremy, Prattville, Ashley Miller Adams and her husband, Jeremy, Panama City Beach, FL; brother, Dr. Mark Benjamin Miller and his wife, Jessica, Dothan; nieces and nephews, Graci, Andrew, Benjamin and John Mark; grandmother, Frances Brinks Cobb; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Candi was a caring mother, loving daughter, dedicated sister, fun loving aunt and a lifelong friend to all.

"Be anxious for nothing and the peace of God, which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus". Phil. 4:6-7
