William Clarence Hoak & Mary Mayselle Foster
They were married 02 July 1916.
PN&C Article dated 07 Jul 1916-After dark the groom drove up cautiously to her home & while her father was casting out into the harvest field to sight for a Monday cut, he got her in his buggy.
They drove 9 miles to the Shenandoah & took the Ferry across. There the groom providently produced a lock from his pocket & chain from his buggy & fastened the trusty craft to her dock.
This in case of pursuit by her irate father. They flew to Luray & in the night took the train for Hagerstown. Rev. Mr. Lynn tied them in the bonds wedlock.
