Beckham "Tom" Oliver, 65, of Caroline Road, Flatwoods, died today at his home. Mr. Oliver was born Aug. 19, 1927, in Ashland, a son of the late George Oliver and Bessie Bailey Oliver Perkins. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Henry Perkins. He was a storeroom clerk wit C&O Railroad, a member of Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle, TCU, and was a Kentucky Colonel. Surviving are his wife, Edna Maxine Kirk Oliver; two sons, Danny Gerald Oliver of Florence, Ala., and Barry Wade Oliver of Flatwoods; five brothers, Edgar Oliver, Eugene Carl Perkins; James Milton Perkins, and Elmer Perkins, all of Flatwoods, and Henry Perkins of Ashland; a sister, Katherine Midkiff of Hungtington, W. Va.; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by the Rev. Bennie Grizzle and the Rev. Otis Sanders. Entombment will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
