Obituary: Mrs. Rebecca Rogers (sic) died at the home of son-in-law, John Libold, in Sinking Valley shortly after midnight Sunday night, after an illness of two weeks from pleuro pneumonia. She was born at Petersburg May 16, 1844, and at death was aged 58 years 10 months and 27 days. Her husband, Jacob Rogers, was a track watchman, was killed on the railroad, west of Birmingham September 4, 1892. Her mother, Mrs. Mary Ann Dougherty, survives and resides at Baughman. Five children survive, viz. Mrs. John Libold, Sinking Valley; David P. Rogers and Mrs. Sadie Mattern, Tyrone; Mrs. Robert Morrision, Arch Spring; and Elizabeth Blanche Rogers, at home. These brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Henry Potter, of Rochester, N.Y.; and George Dougherty, John Dougherty, James Dougherty, Henry C. Dougherty, Mrs. A. P. Calderwood and Mrs. Calvin Stouffer. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon. Cortege will leave the home at 1 o’clcok, and the services will be held at the U. B. church [United Brethern] in Birmingham at 2 o’clcok. Interment at the Birmingham M. E. cemetery.
