Services for Ruby Jane Bacon DeFoore, 80, were held Tuesday, July 22 at the First Christian Church in Lufkin.

Mrs. De Foore was born April 10, 1923 to Jane J. Bacon and Benjamin H. Bacon of Schlater, Miss. After graduating from Mississippi State College for Women (MSCW) in 1944, she worked in Houston for Humble Oil Company in the chemistry department.

She was a charter member of the North Greenwood Baptist Church where she was active in Women's Work, a Bible teacher and a member of several social and civic clubs of Greenwood, and as a young matron was named Mother of the Year in 1955. She served as co-teacher in Waco Public Schools, Bible Teacher in the Young People's Dept. and financial secretary of the Columbus Avenue Baptist Church of Waco.

Survivors: husband, Charles W. DeFoore, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. and Chris DeFoore, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA.; daughter and son-in-law, Jane DeFoore and William Wagnon of Dallas; grandchildren, Cara and Matthew DeFoore of Virginia Beach, Va., Kelly, Catherine and Megan Wagnon of Dallas; and sister, Drusilla Bacon Reed of Dallas.
