Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Jerome "Jerry" Schramel, age 63, who died Sunday at Quiet Oaks. Entombment will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond (151 Oakwood Ave. S.E.). The Cold Spring American Legion will pray at 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Catholic Order of Foresters. Parish Prayers will be at 8:00 p.m.
Jerry was born in Richmond, MN to Roman and Veronica (Dingmann) Schramel. He married Kathy Hemmesch on September 4, 1967 in St. Agnes Church, Roscoe, Minnesota. Jerry served in the United States Army Reserves for 25 + years. He worked for the Stearns County Highway Department and was a building inspector for Wakefield Township for many years. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, spoiling his grandchildren and traveling. He was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Catholic Order of Foresters and the Cold Spring American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; children, Lisa, Mark (Becky), Nancy (Mike); grandchildren, Darren and Riley; brother, Don and sister, Marian.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
