Jeanette Rayner, 85, of Albany died Monday at Lydia's House at the Mennonite Home.

She was born in Portland, the daughter of Raymond and Edith (Drager) South. She graduated from Grant High School in Portland.

Jeanette married Frank Rayner on April 10, 1943, in New Orleans. They lived in Portland until moving to Albany in 2004. He preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 2007.

She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Portland, where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Jeanette is survived by son Robert "Bob" Rayner and wife Diana of Albany; grandchildren Kelly Dowling and Robert Gardner, the children of her daughter, Susan P. Gardner, who preceded her in death; three great-grandchildren; and sister Evelyn Bellerby of Portland. She was also preceded in death by brothers Raymond South and Donald South, and sister Marguerite Woods.
