Tillie C. Snell, 95, formerly of 529 Avenue F, Riverside, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at RiverWoods in Lewisburg, where she had been a guest since January 1998.
She was born March 15, 1915, in Riverside, the daughter of the late J. Hudson and S. Maude Kimbel Cuthbert.
She graduated from Danville High School in 1932. Tillie was a member of First Baptist Church, Danville. She was a dealer and manager for Stanley Home Products for 37 years. She enjoyed selling.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John L. Dawson, in 1971; and by her second husband, Chester E. Snell, in 1994. Tillie was preceded in death by three sisters: Eva Gearhart in 1981; Alma Sees in 1976; and Berenice C. Eifert in 1988.
She is survived by one nephew, R. Ted Sees, of Riverside. Also surviving are three nieces: Kathleen Reitz of Fayetteville, N.C.; Ann Moyer of Harrisburg; and Rebecca Irwin. She is also survived by one stepdaughter, Sylvia J. Brogan, and her husband, Glenn, of Northumberland.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Visneski Funeral Home Inc., 10 W. Mahoning St., Danville, with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Harry H. Wonderland, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dawes Dunham. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
