She worked in retail at Bacons in Louisville and was a member of Corydon Church of Christ. Vera was a very friendly, loving individual and loved picking strawberries out of her #1 patch. Vera was a hard worker and was always ready to share a joke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. Koehler Sr. and Edna Riggle Koehler; and brother, Charles Koehler Jr.
Survived by her daughter, Jeanie Gallups (Randy); granddaughter, Jessica Gallups of Alabama; her sister, Wilma Koehler Riley (Bob); nephews and nieces who cared for and loved her very much, JoAn Riley (Gene Bush) of Milltown, Donna Riley (Joe Wayne), Bill Riley (Pam), John Riley Sr. (Becky), Richard Riley (Tina) all of Lanesville; many great-nieces and great-nephews; her beloved dogs, Sissy and Socks.
The family wishes to thank Hosparus and Vera's nurse, Ketlin Schneider, for their loving care.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Garr Funeral home in Sellersburg, with burial to follow at Edwardsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday and anytime after 9 a.m. on Saturday.
