Jacob L. Ebersole, 96, formerly of Sheaffer Road, Elizabethtown died peacefully and went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at the United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz.

Born in Elizabethtown, he was the son of the late Moses and Lizzie Longenecker Ebersole. Jacob was owner and operator of his own farm in Elizabethtown and then worked for Longenecker's Hatchery, Elizabethtown. He was the husband of the late Alverta Musser Ebersole who died on January 20, 2007. He was a member of New Haven Mennonite Church, Lititz. He had a passion for farming and he also enjoyed woodworking.

Surviving are five daughters, Clarene M. wife of Elvin B. Boll of Elizabethtown, Doris M. Kriner of Lebanon, Eunice M. wife of Carl E. Ginder and Alta M. wife of Harold M. Moyer both of Mount Joy, Joann M. wife of Glenn R. Martin of Lititz, a son, John M. husband of Ava Nichols Ebersole of Mechanicsburg, 20 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 2 great great granddaughters and a brother, John Irwin husband of Dorothy Ebersole of Denver, PA. Preceding him in death are: four great grandchildren, three brothers: Lester, Abner, and Moses Ebersole, four sisters: Ruth Musser, Edith Groff, Ada Baum, Susan Ebersole, a son-in-law, Joseph F. Kriner, and a daughter-in-law, Verna Shenk Ebersole.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at the New Haven Mennonite Church 230 Crest Road, Lititz, PA., on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM with ministers: Luke Martin, Glenn Fox, LeRoy Martin, and Amos Hurst officiating. Interment is in Stauffer's Mennonite Cemetery, Derry Township. There will be a public viewing at the church on Saturday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM with further viewing on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers. Those desiring may send contributions in Jacob's memory to Christian Aid Ministries 2412 Division Highway, Ephrata, PA 17522. The Buch Funeral Home Manheim, PA is in charge of arrangements.
