Cody was born on April 2, 1982 in Spokane to Randy and Gloria Hathaway. He was taken from us tragically on November 6, 2010. Cody attended Bemiss Elementary, Shaw Middle School, and North Central High School. His interests growing up included Boy Scouts, wrestling, baseball, playing trumpet, water and snow-skiing. He loved going camping and fishing with his family. Cody was a free spirit who was always there to help others. He was thoughtful, considerate and expressed his love by his generous hugs. He was adored by his young nieces, nephews and cousins, known as the best uncle ever. Cody brightened the world with his smile, goofy laugh and booming voice. His story-telling ability was legendary. In addition to his loving parents, Cody is survived by his sister Miranda (Jason) Mullenix and their children Isaiah, Hailey and Caleb; grandparents Ruth Cunningham, Rod and Lois Hathaway; uncle Bruce (Jeni) Hathaway; aunts Susan (Tim) Henderson, Linda (Rick) Henderson, Penny Hathaway; and numerous great-aunts and uncles, cousins and extended family, and vast network of friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Cecil Cunningham. His heart was as big as the world. He'll be greatly missed and never forgotten. Because of Cody's love of little kids and his cousin, Amanda Bunch, who bravely fought childhood cancer, memorial contributions are suggested to Candlelighters of the Inland NW, PO Box 8031, Spokane, WA 99203. Visitation Friday, November 12, 2010 from 2:00-8:00 pm. Memorial service will be Saturday, November 13, 2010, 2:00 pm at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home. Private Interment Fairmount Memorial Park.
