Lola Marie Cheek Sosebee Law died Tuesday January 25, 2011 at Mercy Hospital of Scott County in Waldron, Arkansas, after an extended illness.
She was born on November 7, 1923, and was reared in Greenwood.

She lived for several years in Borger, Texas, and then returned to Arkansas where she lived for many years in Fort Smith before moving to the Waldron area where she had resided for the past eight years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Cheek and Nellie Hanie Cheek; her first husband, Garland Sosebee; her second husband, Waldo Law; her son, Tommy Sosebee;three sisters Elsie Pedigo, Dorothy McFarland and Shelba Crenshaw; a brother, Charles (Charlie) Cheek, Jr.; and one granddaughter.

She is survived by a daughter Cheryl White of Fort Smith; two step sons, Charles Law (Nancy) of Sherwood, and Gale Law (Dianne) of Little Rock; her daughter in law, Ruth Sosebee of Waldron; a sister, Retha Hubler (John) of Haskell, Oklahoma; and a sister in law, Mary Sue Cheek of California. Other survivors include nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Throughout her life she was of the Baptist faith, and at the time of her death was a member of First Baptist Church in Waldron.

Funeral service was held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2011 at Lewis Funeral Chapel conducted by Charles Law, Jim Garner, Billy Crow and Bill Van Meter. Burial was at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 4211 State Line Road, Fort Smith.

Pallbearers were Kevin Yoder, Tony Law, Jody Sosebee, Loren Brungardt, David Penn and Matt Law.
