Christian George Dauber was born in Camden, Hillsdale County, Michigan, July 24, 1859; died in Hillsdale, Michigan, April 26, 1925. He united in marriage with Mary Louise Wright, January 31, 1885. They resided at Metz, Steuben County, Indiana, until the year, 1910, when they moved to Frontier, Michigan, later moving into the city of Hillsdale, where Mrs. Dauber died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident, March 24, 1922. Of the ten children, two daughters preceded the father, in death, leaving to mourn, Perry of Pioneer, Ohio, Stanley of Sturgis, Michigan; Jesse of Algansee, Michigan; Mrs. Hazel Sefton, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; William, at Adrian, Michigan, Virgil at Fort Wayne, Indiana, Burton at Jackson, Michigan and Mildred at home; one sister and two brothers. He became a Christian about twenty-five years ago and united with the Mt.. Pleasant Society of the United Brethren church at Metz, Indiana, and later transferred his membership to the First U. B. church at Hillsdale, Michigan. He was a good Christian, and bore his long illness with resignation. Funeral services were conducted from the First U. B. church of Hillsdale and the Mt. Pleasant U. B. church at Metz, Ind., by Rev E. C. Mason, D.D., assisted by Rev. E. M. Hodgeboom at Hillsdale, and Rev. Frank DeGroff at Mt. Pleasant, where the burial took place beside the wife in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
