Carl Mills, 56, 536 W. Ninth St., died Monday, Feb. 20, 1978, in the Fort Wayne VA Hospital.
Born in Peru Sept. 4, 1921, he was the son of Ben and Maude Stinson Mills. He was married Nov. 16, 1973, to Barbara Working, who survives.
He was a heavy equipment operator and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Also surviving are four sons, Max Mills, San Diego, Calif., Kevin Mills, Bunker Hill, John and Robert Mills, both of Peru; two daughters, Ellen, wife of Owen Mock, Rt. 2, and Sarah Mills, Peru; one stepdaughter, Patricia Williams, Valparaiso; three sisters, Bess Schenkl, Ruth Kurz, and Marjorie Blue, all of Bruce Lake; four grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Mickley officiating. Burial will be in Chili Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
