LAST RITES SEPT. 29 FOR ALDEN DEWEESE
Alden C. DeWeese of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away in a Kansas City hospital after a few hours illness due to a gastric hemorrhage, Thursday morning, Sept. 27, at the age of 59 years, 8 months and 3 days. He was the son of the late Ellet and Martha (Fry) DeWeese, born near Indian Grove, Missouri, Jan. 24, 1903. His boyhood days were spent in that community.
For a number of years he lived in and near Keytesville. The past 20 years his home was in Kansas City where he worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. the past 10 years.
He united with the Indian Grove Christian Church at an early age and remained a member of the church until his death.
He was united in marriage to Emma Lea Owens on Dec. 24, 1923. To this union four children were born. One son died in infancy. Two sons and one daughter survive, Courtney E. DeWeese of Independence, Missouri, Bobby Lee DeWeese and Mrs. Martha Mudrick of Fullerton, California; and five grandchildren. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Martha DeWeese; one brother, Cecil R. DeWeese of Braymer, Missouri; and one sister, Mrs. George Magruder of Keytesville.
Later he was married to Fern Bass who preceded him in death Apr. 4, 1962.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Christian Church in Keytesville. Burial was in Bethany Cemetery.
