Emory Sweatt of Westbrook died at 5:45 p.m. Monday at his home of an apparent heart attack. He was 67.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Westbrook with the Rev. Bob Manning, pastor of the church, assisted by the Rev. Glenn Roenfeldt, pastor of First Baptist Church of Colorado City, officiating. Burial was in the Colorado City Cemetery, directed by the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 9, 1911, in Mitchell County, he married Lois Whisnant on April 12,1961, in Carlsbad, N.M. He was a retired farmer and oil pumper. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Westbrook.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kerry of Odessa; three sisters, Mrs. Tennie Hays of Coahoma, Mrs. Willie Sneed and Mrs. Bernice Wilson of Colorado City; three brothers, Roy of Colorado City, Paul of Big Spring and Elbert of Tulia, and two granddaughters.
Pallbearers were nephews.
