Born August 24, 1909, in Lemington, to Rodney Badger and Jane Marinda Stephenson Ashby. Married Stella Gardner, October 5, 1933, in Salt Lake LDS Temple. Rancher, farm equipment dealer and real estate developer, Utah and Arizona. Active member LDS Church. Rendered service in church, civic and service groups. Served LDS Mission in Pacific Northwest States 1929-1931. 1945 established residence in Phoenix Arizona. Moved to Southern California 1985.

Survived by his wife, Ventura, California; sons and daughter, Dr. Richard and Pamela Ashby, Ventura, California; Larry and Patricia Ashby, Provo; Kenneth and DeAnn Ashby, Delta; Mrs. Grant (Margaret) Worth, Corvallis, Oregon; 29 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Maiben Ashby, St. George; Nina Rasmussen, Salt Lake City.

Memorial services Wednesday December 19, 1990 Ventura, California. Funeral services Saturday December 22, 1990, 11 a.m. in the Sutherland 2nd Ward. Friends may call at Nickle Mortuary Friday from 7-8 p.m. and at Church Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. Burial, Delta Cemetery. Family encourages donations to Carl S. Ashby Scholarship, Delta High School or Medical Resource Foundation of Ventura County Medical Center, P. O. Box 3397, Ventura, CA 93006.
