Mrs. Angeline Gates
Mrs. Angeline Gates, widow of Theophilus R. Gates, who died some time ago at Bellwood, almost 100 years old, died at her home, 718 Third Avenue, rear, of complications Thursday, 3:45 a.m. Mrs. Gates was a daughter of John and Susan Evans Cartwright, born at Frankstown, April 21, 1857.
Survivng are six daughters and two sons: Mrs. Frank Carl, Spring Meadow; Mrs. Herman Webb, Windber; J.A. Gates, Bedford; H.M. Gates, Derry; Mrs. A.R. Greiner and Mrs. C.M. Keller, Pinecroft; Mrs. Rock Verillo, Altoona; Mrs. Emma Carroll, Clarion; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister and a brother; Mrs. Mary Lewis, Altoona and Edward Cartwright, Hollidaysburg.
Funeral services were held at Mrs. Griener's home at Pinecroft Saturday at 2 p.m. in charge of the Rev. Montreville Seely. Interment followed in Logan Valley Cemetery.
