George Aalsma, 63, of Route 1, Waupun, died Sunday morning at Veterans Administration Hospital, Madison. He was born April 18, 1912, at Randolph, a son of Nutte and Winnie Jansma Aalsma. He married Anna Smit on Aug. 27, 1937, at Oakfield. The couple farmed in the Waupun area. In 1944 he joined the Army and served in World War II. He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, Waupun,.the male chorus and Men's Society. Survivors include his widow; a son, George Jr., at home; five daughters, Mrs. Robert Zamzow and Mrs. Ken TenPas both of Waupun, Mrs. Tony McReynolds of Kansas, Mrs. Carlton Van Steenis and Mrs. Bill Ver Meer both of Iowa; and four grandchildren. Other survivors are three brothers, Casey. Joe and Herman all of Waupun; and four sisters, Mrs. Art Vande Streek and Mrs. Grace Triemstra both of Waupun, Mrs. August Boorsma of Randolph and Mrs. Ernie Triemstra of Cambria. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Reformed Church, Waupun, with the Rev. John Van Schepen of Beaver Dam officiating. Burial will be in Alto Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Aalsma will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and at the church from noon Wednesday until the time of services.
