Mr. W. R. Royal, living near Meridian, died Wednesday afternoon, May 11, 1904, at 4 o'clock, after an illness of several weeks, ages 76 years and 4 days. Everything was done to prolong his life, but that dread disease, dropsy, prevailed and proved fatal.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and interment in Meridian Cemetery, Rev. W. B. Jones, of Iredell, conducted the services.

The Tribune joins the many friends of the bereaved family in extending sympathy and condolence.

(Heart Dropsy, is known today as Congestive Heart Failure, it tends to be hereditary) .
