Clara Elizabeth Wheeler, 80, of Dayton, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004, at the Rhea County Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Rhea County, she attended the Church of God. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl "Goose" Wheeler, and her second husband, James Wheeler. Survivors include her daughter, Shelia Fernandez; son, Dickie Whitfield; sister, Nancy Whitfield, all of Dayton; two grandchildren, Jerry Allen Sneed and Michelle Diane Smith; four great-grandchildren, Warren Earl Smith, Daniel Allen Smith, Shaylee Brooke Sneed and Jerrod Allen Sneed; several nieces and nephews. Services were held Friday morning in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Thomas Wilson Jr. officiating. Burial followed in Dayton City Cemetery. Arrangements were conducted by Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, Dayton.
