Heber LaMarr Gunn, 1927 to 2011, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2011 at Park City Medical Center.

He was born April 16, 1927 in Ogden, Utah to Frank Eldred and Elsie Bingham Gunn. LaMarr graduated from North Summit High School.

He stayed close to the farm home until he went to serve in the United States Navy. He served two and a half years as a Signalman Third Class. He served, among other places, in the South Pacific, Palau Islands, and Philippines. Soon after returning home, he went to BYU and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.

While attending BYU, he fell in love and married Winona Hansen. They were married in the Logan Temple on October 29, 1948.

He was active in the LDS Church with many callings. A few were Ward Clerk, in the Elders Quorum and High Council. He retired after 25 years of service with the FBI. He was also a Summit County Court Bailiff and Summit County Justice Court Judge. He also drove the school bus for the North Summit School District. In his various jobs, he lived in several states including: California, Indiana, Florida, and Utah.

He is survived by his loving wife, Winona, of over sixty-two years together. His children: Theras S. (Sherry) Gunn, Marlys Stevens, Kevin E. Gunn, Craig L. (Audrie) Gunn, Trent D. (Yvette) Gunn, and two brothers, DeVerl (Nancy) Gunn and Theron (Dorene) Gunn, and fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one older brother Junior, and one son Christian.

We are grateful for the example that he set for all those around him; he had a great strength and belief in the gospel. He will be greatly missed; his memory will live long in our hearts.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hoytsville Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Hoytsville Church and Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
